Select

The Select tool is LetDraw’s most-used tool: you use it to select, move, resize, rotate, and restyle shapes.

  1. Choose the Select (S) tool from the toolbar.
  2. Click a shape to select it. To select several items, Shift+click or drag from an empty area to draw a selection box.
  3. Drag a selected shape to move it; use the corner handles to resize; use the rotation handle at the top to rotate.
  4. Double-click a shape (or a table cell or code block) to edit its text.

When a shape is selected, a selection bar appears above it. From there you can set:

  • Color and fill: stroke color, fill color, and fill pattern.
  • Stroke: width and style (solid, dashed, dotted).
  • Drawing style: Clean, Sketch, or Scribble.
  • Corner and arrow shape: round the corners; arrowhead shapes on arrows.
  • Opacity: adjust the item’s opacity with the slider.
  • Layout: group / ungroup, bring to front / send to back (layer order), align; plus duplicate and delete.

Which controls appear depends on the selected item type (for example, font and size for text; arrowheads for arrows; only opacity and layer for images). The controls for each item type are described in detail on the relevant tool page.

  • Grouped shapes move as a single unit; to break a group, select it and use the ungroup option.
  • Copy/cut/paste with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X / Ctrl+V; undo with Ctrl+Z.
  • For all shortcuts, see the Keyboard shortcuts page.
