Line

The Line tool lets you draw straight lines and multi-point (polyline) lines.

KeyAction
CChoose the Line tool
  1. Choose the Line (C) tool from the toolbar.
  2. Single segment: drag from one point to another.
  3. Multi-point line: click to add points; each click creates a new vertex. To finish, double-click or press Enter or Esc.
  4. Hold Shift while drawing to snap angles to 15° increments.

When you draw a line and select it, a selection bar appears above it. For lines, these controls are available:

  • Stroke color: click the color swatch and pick a preset color or enter a custom color.
  • Stroke width: thin, medium, or thick.
  • Stroke style: solid, dashed, dotted.
  • Drawing style: Clean, Sketch, or Scribble. Styles other than Clean also show a bowing control.
  • Multi-point shape: on a multi-point line, the bar also has a line shape picker (straight or curved multi-point).
  • Opacity: adjust the opacity with the slider.
  • Layer order: bring to front or send to back.
  • Duplicate / Delete.

Note: Lines have no fill or corner controls.

  • You can select an existing multi-point line with the Select tool and edit its points.
  • For connectors whose ends attach to shapes, see the Arrow (A) tool; arrows follow when you move a shape.
